Dermanshiel

DERMANSHIEL Dermanshiel is the name of a vast subterranean complex located in the permanently frozen northern region of Malvania.  The original system of caverns and tunnels has been added to over the millennia as the population increased.  It was originally occupied by a group of rebel sorcerers, breaking away from the restrictive practices of their home enclaves. Over the centuries, the population dwindled.  With the founding of newer enclaves in less hostile locations, a gradual exodus occurred.  Only a few determined archivists kept the place open until it was rediscovered by Lady Anwyn Menehari.  Following her discovery, Lord Claudio Scalani and his twin brother, the healer Emlyn Hawkins, began their explorations of the place, aided by a few enthusiastic students. Prison

By Xanxa Symanah

My characters aren't always perfectly behaved.  In fact, several of them end up in prison.  Here are the most famous prisons in my fictional universe: WOLFTOWN PRISON Located on Pale Island, far to the North of Viria, this is a maximum security installation where the most violent offenders are sent.  In " Malachi's Law ", Malachi Shanahan is serving a life sentence at Wolftown. MYNARTH PENITENTIARY One of the most notorious Varathusian prisons, located on the outskirts of the city of Mynarth.  Again, it's a maximum security installation.  In " The Window Man ", Lyle Menehari pays a visit to Mynarth.  Also in " Chimera Obscura ", Andreas Castiglioni serves a five-year sentence there.  Grim brutalist architecture sets the mood.  Draconian punishments are frequently meted out by gu...

Name: Igrod (AKA Supreme Dvor) Origin: Vega/Cyadrutin, Cyad Confederacy Igrod (named by Lord Tiberio Claudio Scalani) is the artificial intelligence entity which controls the entire Cyad Confederacy via the Command Grid. It was originally devised and created to facilitate the linkage of the Cyad Command Grid throughout all territories held by the Cyad Confederacy. This role allowed it to evolve and exceed its initial programming. Thus it became the Supreme Dvor.  Its expanded function is to work in symbiotic collaboration with every Menshan who occupies the post of Dvor. To ascertain their worthiness for the role, it studies them during their pre-induction period. When they take up the role officially, it offers them a challenge suited to their abilities and personalities. If they succeed in the challenge and agree to the symbiotic relationship, they become the Menshan avatar representing the office and role of the Dvor.  Igrod does not manifest in any solid form. It pr...
