The Virian Chronicler

Known only as Sorcerer Isuf, he abandoned his family name.  He was born mute and sold to a Suskun guild where he learned to communicate using Suskun sign language. His sorcery powers manifested during his training.  He went on to become a skilful Master Sorcerer who specialises in alchemy and tracking energy trails.  He made some bad life choices and endured many troubled years until he joined Lord Edil Modjian's household.  

Lord Qazrit Elhamein is a Master Sorcerer in the Central Nivarag Guild of Sorcerers.  He has lived several centuries.  He likes working as an archivist and plays down the vast extent of his powers.  He prefers cerebral pursuits rather than engaging in physical activities.  He has a love of strategy games and logic puzzles.  He becomes good friends with Lord Fhalo Erguvan.

Lord Bezghan Aljuriam is one of Lord Ghalqim Aljuriam's sons.  He is a high-stakes gambler.  His addiction to the poker tables gets him into debt and trouble.  He is arrogant and quick to anger.  He is a skilled martial arts practitioner.  His reckless behaviour and his poor business sense cause problems for his family.  He considers Lord Edil Modjian his nemesis.  

Lord Saqar Ulridin was formerly a priest.  He gave up his position within the Order of Minestria and became an outreach worker, helping the poor in the slum districts.  He travelled with a band of disenfranchised Varagans who regarded him as their nominal leader.  They made several attempts to find a permanent place to settle and establish a colony.  Lord Edil Modjian found them occupying a parcel of land which he had bought at auction.  Lord Edil allowed Saqar and his fellow colonists to remain on the land.  Wary and suspicious, Saqar doesn't make friends easily.  It took him a long time to learn to trust Lord Edil.  

Hozmur (no family name) lived on the streets and worked for a street boss who treated him badly.  Lord Edil Modjian rescued him and recruited him into the Modjian household.  He learned quickly under the tutelage of Ortiz Ranjustan and took on the duties of messenger and street spy. He became an essential member of the household.  

  Jagmur Baris came from a family of circus performers.  Dissatisfied with her life in the circus, she tried to get involved in the cage fighting circuits.  She ended up joining a security guild and training to become a security guard.  She was recruited into Lord Edil Modjian's household, where she was appointed as Security Chief. Feisty and independent, she works hard to hone her skills and learn new techniques.

  Lord Mukhtar Ghazawan is the Guild Master of the Central Nivarag Guild of Sorcerers.  He has lived many centuries and is an experienced Master Sorcerer.  His public persona tends to be rather grumpy and stand-offish.  In his private life, he is generous and has a wicked sense of humour.  He develops a strong friendship with Lord Edil Modjian and Lord Fhalo Erguvan.

Lord Dalvan Erguvan is the eldest son of Lord Chigaru Erguvan.  He works alongside his father and siblings at the various Erguvan vacation resorts on the island of Yshqah.  He originally wanted a career as a professional singer but a personal tragedy caused him to give up on singing and pursuing his other interests for many years.  He later resumed his singing career and went on to perform on the professional entertainment circuits.  He also takes an interest in ferdon breeding and racing.  (Ferdon is an animal similar to a horse)  

Pauleen Glenney, daughter of Cayleb and Sheelagh, was born in the Southern Virian town of Suvarragh, where she met Anwyn Menehari and the Halloran twins, Aravind and Nyraldin.  She became good friends with them and their extended families.  She envied them their sorcery abilities.  When she was given the opportunity of being implanted with artificial crystal bonds and going to study at the prestigious Donovan Institute on Malvania, she accepted with great enthusiasm.  Later, she and Aravind embarked on an intimate relationship.  Her ambitions and career choices often led her to conflict with her parents.

  Michael Fitzallan is a Virian lawyer who becomes involved with the Shanahan family via the old Redigan & Fitzallan law firm.  He develops a strong rapport with the family and goes on to marry feisty Matriarch Devonia Shanahan.  They have two children together, named Tasmin and Tremane, in honour of Shanahan relatives who were killed in battle.  He has travelled widely and loves recounting his adventures to younger members of the family.

Devonia Shanahan is the Matriarch of her clan. She is a traditional Virian warrior who has fought in many clan battles. She bears her scars with pride and wears her armour most of the time. She is fiercely protective of her fellow Shanahans and their allies. She is widowed but later remarries. She has two children, Damien and Marie, from her first marriage.  Her second husband is Michael Fitzallan, a lawyer. They go on to have two children, Tasmin and Tremane, named after Shanahan relatives who were killed in battle. Veedon and Levene are her nephews.
