Name: Remyn Saavut

Origin: Malvanian

Appearance: Tall, more muscular than the average Malvanian.  Pale skin, long dark hair usually worn in braids.  When teaching his students, he wears traditional black robes, but for his wild nights out, he prefers to dress in women’s clothing.

Personality: Intense, can be overly formal and serious at times, although he has a rebellious streak.  Quietly assertive.  Loyal and loving.

Family: Little is known about them.  He fell out with his parents during a rebellious stage in his early teens.  They disapprove of his homosexual nature.  He is married to Nye Halloran and they have an adopted daughter, Yadzah.

Strengths: Skilled healer, very knowledgeable and resourceful.  Usually polite and diplomatic, but can be brutally honest at times.  Expert in crystal theory, telepathy and martial arts.

Weaknesses: Can seem distant and unapproachable.  Obsessively tidy.  Can be rigid and inflexible on certain issues.

Likes: His husband and daughter, his adopted family in the desert, teaching students, meditating, going out to nightclubs with Nye.

Dislikes: Untidiness, lateness, prejudice and intolerance.

DERMANSHIEL Dermanshiel is the name of a vast subterranean complex located in the permanently frozen northern region of Malvania.  The original system of caverns and tunnels has been added to over the millennia as the population increased.  It was originally occupied by a group of rebel sorcerers, breaking away from the restrictive practices of their home enclaves. Over the centuries, the population dwindled.  With the founding of newer enclaves in less hostile locations, a gradual exodus occurred.  Only a few determined archivists kept the place open until it was rediscovered by Lady Anwyn Menehari.  Following her discovery, Lord Claudio Scalani and his twin brother, the healer Emlyn Hawkins, began their explorations of the place, aided by a few enthusiastic students. Personality: Difficult to get to know, gives nothing away.   Harsh, cruel and controlling. Family: From one of the Malvanian sorcerers’ enclaves.   Cut all ties many years ago and insists that he has no living relatives. Strengths: Intelligent, has some medical knowledge, well-versed in law (he also works as a lawyer for the Cyad State Legal Bureau), analytical scientific mind.
